Directions to the public that may be issued by Emergency Services
In a major emergency in Sydney or North Sydney CBD Emergency Services may issue these directions to inform the community and get you to take action. All staff MUST understand what they mean and what they should do
This is the default action for ALL people in an unaffected area of the Sydney or North Sydney CBD who have not been directed to Evacuate or Shelter in place. It means continue as normal, but Delay your journey and do not attempt to use public transport until advised. Learn more…
This requires all staff to evacuate the premises immediately and move in an orderly manner to one of the nominated CBD Assembly Areas. This measure assumes that the building’s usual evacuation point is unavailable or is perceived to be dangerous. Learn More…
Shelter-in-Place means moving immediately to an internal area within your facility (with no or few windows) and staying in place until the situation has passed or it is safe to leave the building. In this scenario, you should also be preparing to evacuate if and when directed. Learn more…
When it is assessed that it is safe to return to the Sydney and/or North Sydney CBD this directive will be issued – unless some areas remain restricted for operation or control reasons. Return to work may be a staged approach with staff returning at different periods. Learn more…
